Enter the Void follows Oscar, an American drug dealer living in Tokyo with his sister who is fatally shot by police in the midst of a hallucinogenic drug trip.

Simultaneously described as an experimental arthouse picture, a fantasy-drama film or, in the words of director Gaspar Noé, a "psychedelic melodrama", Enter the Void follows Oscar, an American drug dealer living in Tokyo with his sister who is fatally shot by police in the midst of a hallucinogenic drug trip.
He then has an extended out-of-body experience, where he witnesses events from his life that led him to this moment, as well as the effect that his death has had on his sister, friends, and acquaintances, while also floating freely through the city.
Enter the Void was Gaspar Noé's dream project for years before he finally realised it and released it in 2009 and it flopped on its initial release, sharply dividing audiences and becoming a cult classic later on.
