Synopsis
Meet Diabolik. He's slick, he's suave, he's gentle, brutal, and wild. And he's out for all he can take, caress, or get away with... Populating this pop art spectacle, we have John Philip Law (the blind angel in Barbarella!) as the titular master thief Diabolik, who essentially plans and executes heists on a whim and for his girlfriend Eva Kant, played by sex symbol Marisa Mell (known for the dual role in 'Perversion Story' for Fulci fans out there!). On their tail is Inspector Ginko, played by the great Michel Piccoli. Rounding this out we have the maestro himself Ennio Morricone composing the score, and the grand sets making this film look like its' leapt right out of the pages of a comic book!
August 31 - we'll be screening one of the most comic book-y of comic book movies, one so incredibly vibrant and rich with colour that it makes 'Batman '66' look as dull as a modern Marvel product. We will be screening Dino De Laurentiis (Barbarella, Flash Gordon, Conan the Barbarian) and Mario Bava's (Blood and Black Lace, Planet of the Vampires, Black Sabbath) DANGER: DIABOLIK!
